Foam and bulk reduction

Maintain DO (Dissolved Oxygen) levels with low stirring.

Reduce foam and bulking with pure oxygen

Using pure oxygen, lowers the formation of foams in biological treatments. The energy applied for stirring up is the minimum required for this purpose (unlike when air is use). Also, the lower biomass mortality due to the adequate oxygen transfer rate. Filamentous biomass caused by limited oxygen in the systems is also eliminated.

Soft stirring
Adequate mixing reduces foam formation.
Monitorise
WaterSan® MiruGas® includes webcams to monitorise the foam formation.
Transfer rate of O2
A high OTR (Oxygen Transmission Rate) allows oxygen to maintain DO (Dissolved Oxygen) levels, reducing filaments.
The presence of oxygen helps to maintain adequate oxygen concentration values in the reactor, avoiding the occurance of bulking due to its scarcity.
