In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, we at Nippon Gases is proud to have pioneered the supply of green hydrogen to Viscofan, the world's leading manufacturer of packaging for consumer products.
.
Thanks to this fact, Viscofan has successfully completed the tests carried out to progressively replace the natural gas used in its steam generation boilers with green hydrogen, thus reducing its CO2 emissions.
Viscofan has successfully completed the tests carried out to progressively replace the natural gas used in its steam generation boilers with green hydrogen, thus reducing its CO emissions.
In addition to the supply of green hydrogen for this test, Nippon Gases has also been in charge of the temporary installation and distribution of hydrogen, with two semi-trailers with an approximate capacity of 4. 000 Nm3 -each one- of green hydrogen compressed at 200 bar.
With our expertise in combustion, Viscofan has been able to take a step forward in its sustainability strategy: thanks to the use of hydrogen as fuel, the carbon footprint in this type of process is reduced by not emitting 2.15 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere.
As we have stated in our 2021 Sustainability Report, “Nippon Gases' commitment to our customers, suppliers, employees and partners and to the communities in which we operate reflects our dedication to the environment and sustainability”.
