SanCut®

Special product for oxyfuel cutting process.

The right solution foryour oxyfuel thermal cutting.

Autogenous or thermal flame cutting has been a well-known technology for cutting unalloyed and low-alloyed steels for centuries. Due to continuous further development, it is impossible to imagine metal processing without it today.

Nippon Gases has developed some productsspecific for this technology with the aim ofmaking the process even more advantageousto increase productivity and cutting quality.
What is the most important gas in the oxyfuel cutting process?

Without a doubt, the answer to this question is oxygen.

It supports the flame in the preheating phase, bringing carbon steel to incandescence, and thus fueling an exothermic reaction between the carbon contained in the steel and oxygen. However, fuel gas also has a fundamental function in the type of work and process economy.

Various hydrocarbon mixtures, such as acetylene, propane, etc. and blends are used as fuel gases. The optimum fuel gas depends on the type of cut, the productivity and the material thickness. Particularly with regard to material thickness, the mixing ratio to oxygen plays a major role.

Thanks to its high primary flame power and high ignition speed, the use of acetylene is still the most common.
