Gender diversity

Together we can all break the bias.

Equality of opportunities and non-discrimination are essential

At Nippon Gases we are continually striving to promote diversity by actively overcoming bias, discrimination and gender stereotypes.

27,1%
Of our female employees work in specialist and managerial positions.
27,7%
Of our employees (all categories) today are women.
35%

Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) studies
STEM studies are less and less chosen by young people. In the case of women, they generally have fewer opportunities in industrial environments.
At Nippon Gases we encourage women to see STEM as an exciting future career and help them continue to grow professionally.
We recognise women´s role as part of the change to achieve the goal of a better future, as science and gender equality are vital to the achievement of internationally agreed sustainable development goals.

Our actions
We are continually striving to promote diversity
In every process involving employees - like hiring, developing or identifying talent - our priority is to take objective decisions removing biases and increasing the visibility of our female population.

Programs and trainings
We have started different trainings and programs with female professionals, such as the Sponsoring program and the W.I.N.G. community, to offer women in our company visibility opportunities.
Associations and internships
We partner with associations and universities that promote STEM careers among young female students and that support female engineers. We also hire interns in our organization, as hiring female professionals at early stages of their career in our industry will increase the pipeline of female professionals.
