Carbon dioxide is used in the production of carbonates and bicarbonates
In addition to its use as an ingredient in carbonated beverages and as a pH regulator, carbon dioxide is used in the production of carbonates and bicarbonates. These compounds are used either in the manufacture of end products or as an intermediary in extraction processes, as a molecule in the make up of complex chemicals or as a replacement in the process of producing sulphates, nitrates, etc.
