Dry ice for cooling, storage und transport at below -70 °C
Dry ice is the ideal cooling medium for securing the cold chain during the transport and storage of medicines, even at temperatures below -70 °C.
What is Dry Ice?
Dry ice is carbon dioxide in solid form.
During its production, cryogenic liquefied carbon dioxide is expanded through a special nozzle.
This process produces CO2 snow (dry ice snow) and CO2 gas, approximately in a 50:50 ratio. The snow is pressed into shape, e.g. pellets, and the gas is reliquefied in a closed circuit after expansion.
Nippon Gases produces dry ice in various forms and qualities, depending on customer requirements.
