A1 HFO refrigerant fluid
European Directive 2006/40/EC banned the use of refrigerants with a GWP > 150 in the air-conditioning system of new cars produced after 1st January 2017.
As a result, R-134a had to be replaced with HFOs. The world’s biggest automotive companies chose R-1234yf as the best alternative on account of its characteristics matching those of R-134a and its well-tested safety characteristics thanks to very low flammability.
