Nippon Gases Italia has published its third Sustainability Report, to communicate to its stakeholders the actions taken on economic, environmental and social sustainability issues in the last fiscal year (1 April 2021 - 31 March 2022).
The Report, drawn up on a voluntary basis in accordance with the Sustainability Reporting Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), is structured in 4 chapters:
1. About Us, containing a snapshot of the Group, its history and corporate structure, as well as a statement of the sustainability intentions to which Nippon Gases is committed.
2. Proactivity, illustrates the Group's proactive approach not only to find the best technological solutions and applications to offer its customers and partners, but also to achieve excellence in ethical standards and compliance culture.
3. Innovation, emphasises the role of an innovative and responsible organisation in building a sustainable and prosperous society. In this chapter, Nippon Gases reports on the activities undertaken to optimise the management of environmental and water resources, reducing emissions through efficiency programmes and renewable energy purchasing policies, and prioritising waste recovery.
4. Collaboration, emphasises the fundamental contribution of human resources to the pursuit of the Group's goals, attentive to create a stimulating and safe working environment for its employees. Safety is a top priority for Nippon Gases, which aims to spread a culture of safety among employees, stakeholders and all the communities in which it operates.
The Sustainability Report renews Nippon Gases Italia's commitment to incorporate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda into its business strategy, in order to achieve the targets set on the objectives that the Sustainability Committee of Nippon Gases Euro-Holding has identified as having the greatest impact on the Group's activities in the areas of Ethics and Compliance, Environment, Climate Change, Safety and People.
The drafting of this third Sustainability Report therefore represents not only an accounting of the activities carried out during the fiscal year, but also an opportunity to set objectives on which to design improvement activities that will enable the Group to be increasingly competitive, innovative and sustainable.
