Nippon Gases participates in the development of a green hydrogen production hub at the production site in Giammoro, Messina.
The Hydrogen Valley, by means of a 1 MW electrolyser powered by a 4 MW photovoltaic plant, will be able to produce around 100 tonnes per year of green hydrogen, which will be used in factories located in the surrounding area.
The project, coordinated by Duferco Group in cooperation with Caronte Spa and Nippon Gases, requires a total investment of € 10 million, of which about € 7.5 million is financed by European Union - NextGenerationEU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan’s 'Hydrogen Valleys' call for proposals, aimed to support the production of green hydrogen in unused industrial areas.
Nippon Gases is proud to collaborate in the realization of this project, and to contribute to the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. The production of hydrogen from green energy is an example of a carbon-neutral industry, and a demonstration of the Nippon Gases Group's commitment to helping companies face the challenges of decarbonization and sustainability.
